Check out the Whistler Ski Scene

Whistler is one of the greatest ski resorts in the world. Even the very casual ski enthusiast knows the reputation of Whistler. This charming ski village has so much to offer both on and off the ski hills. There is great skiing for all abilities, with wonderful runs. Situated in the Coast Mountains between two lakes, Whistler is a top destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts, particularly skiers and snowboarders.

Cruising from top to bottom on either mountain takes time, as a total of 8,171 skiable acres demands. It is a really incredible and vast ski playground. But don't worry about slow lifts or extended line ups. Whistler boasts world class lifts and gondolas. And the ski hills are nicely groomed. If you prefer to go on a snowshoe adventure or take a more active cross country trail, there are a multitude of routes available for your adventure. There are over 200 shops in Whistler. Despite having a fairly small local population, the shops are varied and the quality is exceptional.

Easily accessible, you can travel from the Vancouver airport to Whistler in less than an hour and a half. it's a great option for those who want to make a weekend excursion, or even an overnight trip. There are several companies offering excellent transfer services from Vancouver airport to Whistler. Be sure to select a company that can offer you a variety of vehicle choices and one that has regular runs to Whistler. You will be met at the airport and taken straight to your accommodation. Most shuttle charters use vehicles that have room to safely store ski and snowboard equipment. As well, drivers are fully capable of handling and packing your equipment.

A Picturesque Village

Skiing is what people come here for in the winter, but there is much more to offer in this picturesque little village. The wide variety of cuisine available in the village could tempt you to stay off the mountain. It is definitely a great way to break up your day. You can find an excellent selection of food within walking distance of one another. You can try tapas, asian, fusion, pub food or even fine dining if that's what you wanted.

It is easy to be swept away in the atmosphere of the village when you are walking through the snow covered streets and looking into the glistening shop windows. The trendy pubs and bars offer a nightlife that can only be compared in quality to a cosmopolitan location.

The fact that it is located in the mountains certainly adds to this town's allure but the practical aspects - including the reasonably priced accommodation, the vicinity of the airport in Vancouver to Whistler, and the variety of skiing options - make it a wonderful choice for a winter holiday.

Prices are competitive and the door-to-door service that really eliminates any of the traditional hassles of a car rental or even a bus shuttle service.
