Cyprus - My 1st Thoughts Of Cyprus

By Rob Atherton

The first time I saw Cyprus, I quickly fell heavily in love with the area. It was a summer vacation and the great weather packed with the balmy, inviting waters of the Mediterranean were quickly enchanting. There's a close link between Britain and the Greek area of Cyprus so it felt more like your own property when compared with other places in the Mediterranean.

We appeared at Larnaca which is relatively well connected with diverse United Kingdom airports]. Our waiting taxi took us east toward our accommodation at the widely recognized resort of Ayia Napa. It has a warranted name as an energetic destination, mainly across the high season but we would reserved a 5* hotel around 2km from the centre at Nissi Beach.

We were scheduled into the Aeneas Hotel a terrific 5* hotel situated across the road from Nissi Beach. Our accommodation was placed is wonderful gardens and the main swimming pool may be the biggest individual pool I have ever seen in a hotel. We were scheduled into the standard room that was nice and clean, modern and cozy and a couple of the better rooms opened up at once on the primary pool. All through the day, the pool, or rather a little bit of it, was the focus of the phenomenal entertainments team who performed all day keeping visitors busy.

Breakfast time in the hotel was a selection of standard English or continental breakfasts. There is a terrific range of food along with masses of fruit which is always a agreeable sight on vacation. At night, we generally ate away from the hotel as there is a big choice of bars, cafeterias and eating places in easy reach or possibly a short taxi journey away in the middle of Ayia Napa. There is a enormous range of places to eat around the resort of Ayia Napa. One night, we even tried crocodile meat. In Ayia Napa, I spent a couple of days diving with a dive centre in the resort. The sea was friendly but sadly, there is not anywhere close to the same degree of marine life I had seen in Egypt. We also paid a couple of visits to the close by Waterworld Aqua Park which is an amazing short break for kids of all ages.

Another place worth visiting is close by at Protaras. The Sea Aquarium Park has north of 400 types of sea existence on show and outdoors within the gardens, you'll see enclosed pools with turtles and crocodiles. Nonetheless, this Cyprus vacation was generally a seaside break and we spent a lot of the time either across the road from Aeneas Hotel at Nissi Beach or round the enormous hotel pool. We didn't really have a look at the other parts of Cyprus during our vacation. That adventure must hold off till we return the next time.
