The Ideal San Jose Restaurant

By Herbert Reich

Despite the hundreds of fine restaurants in the South Bay, San Jose doesn't get the respect it deserves for being a culinary epicenter. While the entire world will concede its importance in relation to the Silicon Valley, few book vacations to exclusively spend time in and around San Jose. Consequently, the city tends to cater mostly to hungry locals and business professionals traveling to and from the myriad tech firms.

Is there such a thing as an ideal San Jose restaurant? That's such a broad question it borders on the rhetorical. It all depends on personal preference, personal taste, and the whims of fancy. If you're feeling like having Chinese, you're going to think Chinese is the ideal cuisine. If you're in the mood for Italian, well, you get the picture.

Luckily, no matter where cravings lead you, San Jose can accommodate. From American standards to refined French cuisine, you're covered in San Jose. In fact, not only are you covered, but some of the preeminent restaurants in the country call San Jose home. From Il Fornaio Cucina Italiano to Arya Global to the Grill on the Alley -- these aren't just local favorites, these are establishments being featured on food networks.

To be sure you can find exquisite meals and restaurants in San Francisco and Oakland, but if you want to experience the flair and excitement of the South Bay, you should be headed to San Jose. You may be pleased to learn there are plenty of hotels to choose from -- hotels that will place you close to the eating action.

Buck the trend and target San Jose for your next Bay Area adventure. If you love great food and warm hospitality, you can't go wrong with the South Bay. From South San Francisco to Mountian View to San Jose, things are just nicer -- and tastier -- down here. Just be sure you bring your appetite.
