Generally when we look at Sydney, Australia, one thing comes into mind; a distinctive looking construction that lies on the harbor and identifies the landscape of this remarkable city, known as the Sydney Opera House. Even for those people who have never visited Sydney, this is a remarkable landmark and one that many can pick out with ease.

Strangely enough the Sydney Opera house is significantly younger than other buildings in Sydney, although due to its exceptional design has become an emblem of Sydney since it opened in 1973. It was crafted by a Danish Architect, Jorn Utzon during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and cost $AU 102,000,000 to put together. It's been a image of Sydney ever since with its unique arched design that pulls to points at the top it's a one of a kind design and for a structure this small in height appears to hold it's own with the more pristine, massive structures like the Empire State building and the Eiffel Tower.

The Sydney Opera House is at the top of almost all travelers must see list for their vacations to Sydney and more than two hundred thousand people tour the opera house every year. Every one of its 1000 rooms provides guests with a unique experience and as many as 2 million people each year go to the functions held in this landmark.

While the Sydney Opera House may perhaps, initially, look smaller than some other landmarks with this kind of notoriety, it in reality is a massive structure with more than a million tiles on the roof alone. The building itself, spans about 120 meters in width and approximately 185 meters in length as well as uses over 6,000 square meters of glass which lends itself to fantastic sights of both the harbor and the city.

Even today there is constantly something happening at the Sydney Opera House a location where numerous distinctive vacationers accumulate to take in the over 3,000 events that happen on site yearly. A building as vibrant in culture as it is, in architectural and historical value, the Sydney Opera House is the place to go if you're touring Sydney, Australia. Whereas this building is incredible to look at even from the outside, the interior is spectacular also and a vacation to Sydney would not be whole without taking an extensive tour of the Sydney Opera House.
