High-Quality Aluminum Gun Cases - Firearm Protection with Reinforced Sides

By Shannon Hilson

After making a purchase of a firearm, it is important to protect your investment from every day environmental hazards, and safeguard others from having access to the weapon. It is the ultimate obligation of all gun owners to take full responsibility of every weapon in his or her possession. Whether your gun or rifle will be stored at the house, office or in your vehicle, it must always be locked away and secured in a well-built gun case, when not in use.

Should you choose to store your weapons in the basement, or other damp area, it is important to maintain a low level of humidity. Extreme dampness, rain, dust and dry air has a direct negative impact on how your firearm will operate, or how long it will stay in pristine condition. Locking your weapons away in a high-quality gun case is a way to ensure they are being shielded from potential hazards caused by the environment.

Cloth and synthetic fiber carrying cases work well to transport your weapons to the firing range, gun club or out hunting; however they are very inefficient at protecting them. Leather gun cases also are inefficient, and can leave unwanted oils and stains on the metal and grip of the gun. Only by safeguarding your rifle or gun in a solid build metal case, can you ensure it is being protected from damage.

Many top quality aluminum gun cases are crafted with a soft lining on the interior of the case. Others come with high-density padding as an interlocking foam, which easily holds the weapon firmly in place. Quality aluminum cases are manufactured to be weather resistant. Many come with chrome corners and handles which easily shield the box from being scratched, marred or damaged from environmental hazards. Plastic or rubber feet attached to the bottom of the case easily guards against scuffing or denting when the case is laid down on any surface.

Crafted with a combination or key lock, many aluminum gun cases have the advantage over fiber cloth carrying cases. Large rifle cases have an additional combination lock installed, adding to a high level of protection by securely safeguarding the case from those not permitted to have any access to your weapons.

An aluminum gun case has the dual capability of acting as a permanent storage device and carrying case. When transporting your weapons to the firing range, or while out hunting, the aluminum construction makes the case lightweight and easy to lift. By transporting the weapon in the same case that is used to store it, eliminates the need to remove the gun from your gun safe. The less time the weapon remains exposed to the elements, or out of the hands of others, provides you with added protection from something going wrong.

The bigger size gun cases are large enough to store other items, guns or rifles together. Even the small size gun case can easily store two small handguns along with scopes and ammunition. If the gun case is crafted with interlocking foam padding on the interior, you can store weapons, ammunition and other accessories very close to one another without them ever making contact, even while you are moving the case.

You Want To Grow A Vegetable Garden - Here Are The Ways!

By Glenn Atkins

Are you a plant fanatic and have always wished to grow your own? Perhaps you want to economize and grow your own organic vegetables, or maybe you have always wanted to start a garden and thought a plant garden would be more rewarding. Your reason may be one of these or another one fully. Whatever you're reason, you have made a decision to start a plant garden and wish to know how.

Your primary step is to make a few calls. You need to choose how big you would like your garden to be, where your garden will go, what you're going to plant, and how much you are going to plant. Think about what your favourite fruit and vegetables are and what will grow well in your region. Also, make sure you place your garden where it'll get a large amount of sun.

Now you know what you are going to do, you will need to get all the obligatory supplies. Make sure you have everything you will need including seeds, fertilizer, garden tools like shovels, trowels, cultivators, etc, a hose or watering can, and whatever else that you think you'll need.

Now you can get down and dirty. Plot out your garden and start digging. Dig up all the grass, employing a tiller if you have one. Use your garden tools to cultivate and break the soil. Remove all of the rocks, roots, and anything else that doesn't belong. Once you've all of the soil cleaned out, add in any manure or compost mud that you have. Compost is neat because it is brim-full of nutriments form old leaves, bugs, plants, etc .

Once you are garden is ready, you can plant seeds or little plants that have already been growing. I love to plant my seeds in tiny trays early in the spring and then plant them when the garden is ready and the time is right. Done this way, you can eliminate all of the week plants and just use the strongest plants that you know will survive.

When it's the right time, read the back of your seed packets to find out, plant your small plants or sow your seeds in the garden. Water them according to the directions on your seed pack and make efforts to weed your garden every day. Any plant that isn't meant to be there will suck away all the nutrients necessary for your vegetables.

As your veg begin to grow, pick your produce when they're ripe and ready. Enjoy the bounty all summer long!

Grocery Coupon Sites: How Good Are They?

By Miranda Laranjo

Most likely you've read or heard about finding grocery coupons online which can be printed out to use at the grocery store. Coupons.com, Smartsource.com and Coolsavings.com are usually the coupon sites magazines such as Woman's Day Magazine recommend to find free online printable coupons. Here are some facts about these three websites that you won't read about in magazines: the same coupons are repeated on all three websites, fewer grocery coupons are available on these websites and more advertisements for websites promising discounts for non-food items are posted as coupons.

The websites have many of the same coupons on their websites. This week I found these coupons on many websites. Fiber One Cereal for 75 cents off, Chex Granola Bars for 60 cents off, Scott extra soft toilet paper 8 pack or larger for 1 dollar off, and Scott Mega or Long Lasting Paper towels 4 pack or larger. Why waste time checking all three websites?

I found coupons for 40 cents off Sleep Pretty earplugs on different websites, I found a coupon for a 1 dollar off a Flex-Tastic toe separator and 3 dollars off any Dexatrim Max Product. How often does a person need a coupon for: earplugs, toe separators, or diet supplements? website had a coupon for 10 dollars off Hasbro's Monopoly Electronic Banking game and 5 dollars off their Pitureka! game.

I found advertisements for these non-food items at different stores: save 15 percent and free shipping. I also found coupons for same products week after week: 2 dollars off a 24 pack of White Cloud bathroom tissue when you visit their website. The White Cloud website allows a limited amount of coupon prints per a person. Western Union was advertising .

I'm not saying you can't find coupons to save money on groceries on these websites. There are a few good grocery coupons to found on these coupon websites just not many. Clipping coupons from the newspaper like our moms did just might be faster and save computer ink and computer paper.

Here are some money saving tips I use to save money on groceries: build a menu around what's on sale at the grocery store, have relatives give me coupons they don't use, buy store brands, shop the farmer's market and check out discount grocery stores like: Save A Lot.

It's really not that hard to build a menu around what's on sale at the grocery store. First check the newspaper or your mailbox for grocery ads. My grocery sends out a circular each week. If chicken and barbeque sauce is on sale, an easy meal to make is barbeque chicken. Just pour sauce over chicken and bake (see a cookbook or cooking website for cooking times). If fresh corn is on sale then that's a one of your side dishes either boil, microwave or grill it (see a cookbook or cooking website for cooking times and directions). Another meal I've made is Jambalaya when the ingredients were on sale. Jambalaya is a spicy Louisiana rice dish with either: sausage, chicken and shrimp added. Kroger had Zatarain's Jambalaya mix and sausage on sale the same week. I also had a coupon for the Jambalaya mix which saved me even more. Don't be afraid to be creative with your menus!

My family gives me coupons from the Sunday paper that they don't need. I also check my own Sunday paper for coupons. Sometimes, I have more than one coupon for the same product that's on sale so I use both coupons and stock up.

The store brand is almost always cheaper than name brand products. Sometimes they are even cheaper than the name brand on sale. One example, I found recently was Rotel tomatoes with green chilies and the Kroger version. Rotel's were on sale for a dollar a can but Kroger's were still cheaper. One exception to this rule is when you have a coupon and the item is on sale. I have a found a coupon for a name brand can save a few cents over a store brand occasionally.

Shopping at the farmer's market can a cheaper alternative for buying produce. It is usually fresher since it doesn't travel as far as grocery produce does and it's picked usually the same day or during the same week it is sold. It helps your budget and helps local farmers as well.

I have found spices for my recipes for a lot less at Save A Lot and Wal-Mart. McCormick spices can run up to three dollars or more a jar for spices. Save A Lot and Wal-Mart sell some spices by off brands for a dollar a shaker. I found marjoram a spice my homemade spaghetti sauce calls for at Super D Drug for 88 cents. The McCormick version was over three dollars a jar.

I hope these tips have helped you save money on groceries and given you few ideas for changing the way you shop for groceries. Good luck and its fun to save money!

Hockey Skate Shopping Guidelines You Need To Know

By Dr Kevin Johnston

It's difficult to overestimate the importance of skates as they relate to your speed, balance, comfort and overall play. For the beginner finding the perfect pair of skates is a challenge you will have to contend with. You will need the tips in this article to help you choose the most acceptable pair of hockey skates no matter who you are buying them for.

There are many companies that make hockey skates in a wide variety of models and price ranges. Your own common sense may tell you to buy the best skates you can afford, this is not always the best indicator however. Many professional players prefer a stiffer skate while the average beginner may want something a bit less restrictive to movement and more comfort too. You should, therefore, look for skates that are suitable for your current level of experience and ability.

The wheels and bearings that go on your skates will determine their performance and speed. The wheels come in different sizes and shapes, and if you ever have to replace the wheels on your skates it's essential that you choose ones that are the right size. Choose wheels that are on the harder side if you will use them on outdoor surfaces or softer ones for indoor surfaces. The bearings are what allow the wheels to easily spin, and they come in various qualities. Bearings are rated on a scale of 1 to 9 with the higher numbers being the better quality and usually the higher price too.

You may not realize the fact that hockey skates are unlike any other type of skates and thus not interchangeable. Hockey isn't for sissies, as you play you will realize you aren't just skating on ice, you are competing with others swinging a heavy stick. Your skates have to be able to withstand getting hit with hockey sticks and pucks, not to mention collisions with other players' skates. This is the primary reason to have skates formulated to the sport.

Hockey skates really must become extensions of your feet, as when you're on the ice, they are what give you speed, agility and flexibility. While it's important to choose a good pair, don't worry if you find this a little difficult at first. These things will all help you pick up the perfect pair of skates. For hockey players this is only one of many skills that will need to be developed over time.
