Disney Dream Vacation Savings Plan

By Frances Young

Families vacation can often be a lot of fun, or extremely stressful. While this is the case, some of the most fun in the world can be had on a disney dream vacation. For, while the parks originally targeted young children and teenagers, there are now a number of activities designed specifically for adults.

One of the hardest parts of a Disney vacation is deciding which parks to visit. For, each location has multiple parks and attractions. As such, most visitors decide to purchase a discount combination package which allows entry into all parks. In addition, when staying at on-site themed hotels, many offer early entry and extra perks at the parks.

While going on vacation is an exciting prospect, planning ahead can breed even more excitement. In one case, individuals and families can work on a Disney savings account which individuals can contribute money on a daily, weekly or monthly basis with all funds going toward the purchase of park admission and hotel stays.

While the parks do make for a grand vacation, timing can be everything, especially in Florida. For, the Florida parks are often extremely crowded and at times can reach sell out status, especially during Spring and Summer months. As such, if planning on going to Florida, the less crowded months are between December and March. Although, while the water parks remain open, it is important to check weather forecasts as there can be cold fronts, and while rare, even snow during winter months.

Most all amusement parks shut down rides for short periods during thunderstorms. Although, as weather can often change as quickly in Florida as in Texas, sometimes these events are unforeseen. During these weather events, some individuals may have to remain on a ride until the storm passes, especially if there is thunder, lightning or high wind. As such, while visiting the parks can be fun, it is important to bring a high level of patience along for the ride.

One thing people forget is that drinks and food are not included in the ticket price. In addition, concession stands are often rather expensive. Whereas, there are also thrill rides which may charge an extra fee in addition to the regular ticket price, just a few things to consider when budgeting a trip or setting up a savings plan.

Most parks still focus primarily on children though there are thrill rides which are more focused towards adults and teenagers. As such, it is often advised that visitors view park information, including ride height requirements and weight limits before arriving at the park. For, once tickets are purchased and secured, most have a non-refundable policy when it comes to the cost of admission.

Whether planning a trip to a park or parks in California or Florida, Disney can also be an exciting experience for individual travelers. In addition, solo travelers can often find a number of discount lodging options such as dorm rooms at local youth hostels, or inexpensive bed and breakfasts. While there are generally no alarm clocks, radios or television at these locations, most people now use earphones while listening to, or watching various shows on smart phones or tablets.

Either park system, California or Florida can be fun for singles as well as families. By planning ahead, visitors can often experience a vacation of a lifetime. Whereas, if in need of travel assistance, there are Disney representatives ready to chat with future visitors and assist with questions on each park website.
