Planning The Best Disney Cruise Vacation Packages

By Janet Wright

Lots of people dream of taking a cruise with their family. There are lots of companies to choose from, but none offer everything that Disney can. There is a great mix of things for kids of all ages to do, mixed with grown up activities that let parents get away and relax while the children are being taken care of by ship staff. That is why Disney Cruise Vacation Packages are so popular with families.

You have lots of options, depending on how close you live to the nearest port. If opting to drive, your package may consist of the cruise and a rental car. If not, then an airline ticket will be tacked on instead. You may need to stay overnight the day before. If so, then a night's stay at a local hotel is in order.

In case you need an overnight stay the day before embarkation, then you have a variety of price options to choose from for your room. From five star hotels that have all the amenities and room service, to a budget option that is no frills to save money, you can get anything you need. Be sure to ask for a place that has free shuttle service to the port, or else you will have to pay for your own shuttle or taxi.

If you live in the United States, then you can leave out of multiple ports, depending on which countries you wish to travel to. For example, a popular one is leaving out of Galveston, Texas. This means you can go to the western Caribbean and perhaps Mexico on your trip. If you were to leave out of Florida instead, you may be able to visit the eastern Caribbean and even Disney's private island where no other ships are allowed to go.

A few itineraries also leave out of Europe and let you explore this historical continent by ship. You have to fly into a place such as Copenhagen to get started, and fly out of there to get home. Many of these overseas starts include a big welcome party the night before to say thanks for choosing this trip.

When you cruise with Disney, you can expect delicious gourmet food at several different establishments, which is included in your cost. Most nonalcoholic beverages like water, juice, coffee and tea are also included. However, if you want an alcoholic beverage, you will have to purchase that separately by the drink or sometimes by the bottle.

There are other services that are not included, including spa ones. If you want a massage, facial or manicure, you can get one for an additional fee. You could also ask your travel agent to include an onboard credit to use towards these expenses when you book.

Most taxes and gratuities are added onto your final bill during the cruise, but you can prepay them in advance instead. If you do this, then all you have to pay for is additional services and any souvenirs you buy onboard.

Booking a Disney cruise means you get to make memories that last a lifetime. No matter where you leave from or what package you book, you will have a fun and relaxing time.
