You Will Love The Shark Fishing Cape Cod Has To Offer

By Joanna Walsh

There are so many people that love to do something different when going on holiday. A change of destination with different activities can make an ordinary holiday into a spectacular one. Something that should be tried and is guaranteed to bring a rush to all who try it is the Shark fishing Cape Cod offers.

It has been documented that there are more than four hundred and forty different species of shark in the oceans. They are then able to be further classified into eight different orders. Many of them range in sizes from rather big to quiet small. They are really quite fascinating creatures and many people would love the chance to be able to see them up close in their natural habitat.

There is a list of the ten most dangerous sharks and the first is the Bull Shark. Its scientific name is Carcharhinus Leucas and can grow to be about eleven and a half feet in length. They can weigh anything from two hundred to five hundred pounds.

One shark that does not seem to mind both cold and warm waters is the Mako Shark. Although many prefer to stay in the deeper parts of the ocean there are others that tend to stay closer to the shores. They might be small in size but this will not deter them if they come across a human in their territory and they are known to attack.

Martha's Vineyard is also located just south of Cape Cod and also includes a smaller island by the name of Chappaquiddick. It was a part of the main mass but during a storm in 2007 is broke away. It is only about two hundred and sixty kilometres square and is not connected to the mainland by any means. The only way to land on this island is by air or ferry.

The next is the Whitetip or the Carcharhinus longimanus and are capable to being quite fast. They weigh only about three hundred and seventy pounds and reach thirteen feet in length. When there are other sharks around they do become aggressive and they also like to swim close to the surface.

There are many fishing charters that can guarantee that one will find and in most cases actually catch a shark. The village of Hyannis Barnstable Massachusetts has a ferry boat as well as an aviation connection to the very popular Nantucket Island. They will also be able to provide transportation to Martha's Vineyard which is known tourist attractions all year round.

There are numerous charters that will take people out to do some deep sea fishing. Many people are more interested in catching a variety of fish and not just shark. The most popular catches tend to be Tuna, Striped Bass, Bluefish as well as Cod and Haddock. Their boat are able to hold six people at a time and they take trips to many offshore waters but still all within the New England area.
