The Amusement When Sailing From Panama To Colombia

By Tracie Knight

Taking a flight can be very tempting as opposed to sailing because it is cheaper, faster and less tiresome. Many people have been asked about their opinion about sailing from panama to Colombia. Some of the people asked were against the idea saying that the captains usually take a lot of time docking the ship in sea sand beaches while they spent the whole day sea sick. Some however thought that this was going to be a good experience. The following is review by a tourist who got to sail through to Colombia.

I decided to take my first sailing experience instead of taking the cheap flight. Although the trip was going to cost me around three times more I decided it was worth it to see the beautiful highlands across the sea. The trip was designed at first to take five days with three days spent on the San Blas highlands just off the Caribbean coast.

During the trip, I got some unforgettable experiences and also learnt about new things. Some of new things I learnt is about a swampy and undeveloped are in the sea which is hard to cross and is referred to as the Darien gap. This gap is found in the province of Darien. Many people who cross this gap do it by foot. This cannot be done as easily when sailing.

The number of people taking the sailing trip has been increasing greatly over the past years. This has made the prices of touring agents to be increased. Depending on the type of boat, the tourists get themselves paying between 500 and 1000 dollars.

The sail boats are normally individually owned and operated by captains from all over the world. Therefore there is no guarantee as to which captain will be sailing which boat when a person wants to travel by this means. There are many boats at the dork and therefore the tourists will have a variety to choose from. There are also significant number travel agencies from where the travelers can be able to book for trips.

The amount of time that is spent in the sea during the journey cannot be accurately determined. The sailors usually estimate and therefore travelers on a tight schedule are better off flying. The best time to take this trip is normally in June. Boats still do sail in the other times of the year but the water is normally choppier.

Sailing has an advantage over flying because the waters will take you through the beautiful San Blas islands and also the Comarca Kuna Yala where you can stop for a few days and carry out some fun activities like fishing. Other fun activities that can be carried out in this place are swimming, snorkeling and having fun in the turquoise blue waters.

This trip is highly recommended for any tourists who would like to travel between Colombia and panama because it is less boring than a flight. Taking this trip is almost the same price as just taking a flight but with this there is an addition of fun and getting new experiences.
