Working in Manchester city centre can be incredibly exciting and challenging at the same time. Although Manchester is not too far away from London (a train can have you there in just a couple of hours)it is completely different. The city has a population of around three million yet there seems to be more of a community feeling than in some other large UK cities.

Like all cities, Manchester is made up of lots of different areas, some are nicer than others. The roughest areas are Moss Side and Hulme which are also closest to the student village. Crimes such as muggings often occur and you should avoid these areas at night. If you wish to venture further out of the city centre then the south of the city is possibly the best area to choose. Areas such as Didsbury are popular upmarket choices for those wishing to commute. There are brilliant transport links into the city centre from Didsbury.
