Costa Esmeralda Will Provide Visitors Many Great Experiences

Costa Esmeralda is one of the most visited areas in the world, this idyllic yet exciting destination offers something for every holiday seeker. Unofficially name the Emerald Coast, this piece of land stretches along the Gulf of Mexico in the state of Florida. Once a huge bone of contention with regards to shipping rights, but since the 21st century it has grown in economic stature as well as popularity.

Beach front properties in this area are very sought after, so purchasing one will more than likely prove a wise investment. It is also home to quite a few military bases, including the largest base in the USA. Besides the military most people living in the area earn a living in the tourism and hospitality industry as well as the fishing industry. Allowing a phenomenal amount of land development to take place as well.

This area of the coast runs through 5 countries and is approximately 100 miles in length. A huge array of activities can be done while visiting this beautiful part of the globe. One of the biggest attractions is the deep sea fishing areas, producing some of the world's biggest fishing hauls recorded.

But for those tourists that use this as a holiday destination it will definitely not disappoint. Firstly for the less adventurous traveler there are many guided tours on offer, where one can discover the history behind this important piece of land. Furthermore one must look at taking one of the scenic cruises, where one may get to see a vessel traverse the Mira Flores Locks, which is one of the lock systems in the canal.

Some may even experience how the lock system works which will be well worth the wait if allowed. These locks date back to 1909 and are considered one of the most innovative engineering marvels of its time. Included in the tour is the Casco Viejo area which is home to gorgeous Spanish architectural designs, the San Jose church which has a gold altar, Las Bovedas as well as the Flat Arch, and many more historical buildings.

Nature lovers flock to this coastal region with its abundant wild life. Monkey Island is situated along the Gatun Lake in the dense forests, it is home to the Capuchin and Howler monkeys as well as the 3-toed sloths. Bird life is also diverse with many species of Toucans attracting the birdwatchers of the world. A leisurely hike, hot springs and the local zoo is all part of this inhabited volcanic crater.

As for the adventurer looking for the next thrill this Panama City has loads to offer. Forest tours are recommended. These tours are made up of a hike through the rainforest, a zip line ride followed by kayaking, definitely one to try if young and energetic.

But by far the best the Costa Esmeralda has to offer is its many water activities. Scuba divers will never be bored under these waters, and surfers are promised a few good swells. This is destination is well worth the visit, it will leave any person mesmerized by this amazing wilderness.
