Travel Guide To Cuba

By Mr Kamol Yodsuwan

If you are searching for a really nice destination in the Caribbean then allow me to introduce you to Cuba holidays. Just below Florida, the beaches of Cuba are edged by the Atlantic Ocean in the north and the Caribbean Sea in the south. Below you will find all you need to know about this amazing Caribbean island.

Best Locations in Cuba

Varadero: The beach, Varadero's main attraction, is the 'backyard' of all hotels in Varadero, whose 20km (12 miles) of turquoise water and sandy beach allow tourists to take long walks along the ocean. It presents a necklace of virgin cays easy to reach and a very well preserved natural landscape at the north-eastern end of the peninsula.

Havana: The stomping ground for swashbuckling pirates, a heavily fortified slave port for the Spanish and a lucrative gambling capital for the North American Mafia, Habana has survived everything that has been thrown at it and still found time to innovate. At the forefront of modern Latino culture, Habana has spawned salsa and mambo, Havana Club rum and Cohiba cigars.

Guardalavaca: This is purely a beach location. Most tourists spent their time between beach and pool, snack bar in a pool and snack bar on a beach, followed by beach and a pool. Right next to Club Amigo is the local Guardalavaca market where you can find souvenirs to take home with you. It is adjacent to the main lobby, where the swim-up bar is located.

Trinidad de Cuba: Declared a world heritage site in 1984, Trinidad boast the best of the colonial architecture in Cuba. It contains beautiful churches (such as the Great Parish Church, a neoclassical edifice built in 1892) and public squares, the most important of which is Main Square-surrounded by buildings of great beauty and historic and architectural interest and considered the second most important square in the country, after Havana's Cathedral Square.

Santiago de Cuba: Founded in 1515, Santiago was one of the first of seven towns in Cuba and the Spanish colony's capital until 1553. Diego Velazquez, the founder of the original seven villas, built his mansion here, and the house still stands in the heart of the historic quarter.
