How To Change Your Nitto Tires In Case Of An Incident

By Krista W. Froelich

Every person to ever buy or operate a vehicle for very long will eventually experience what it's like to have a flat tire and need to have it changed, even if their car is equipped with Nitto tires or any other high quality brand. As a driver you will likely spend a lot of time alone on the open road, which is why it is critical that anyone with a driver's license learns how to properly switch out their tire, should a flat occur.

In all honesty, changing out a tire might sound like it is hard but it really quite simple. Instead of taking a course in mechanics, all you need to do is learn a few simple steps and remember them for when the time comes that you have to put them into practice.

The biggest part of changing a tire is having the right equipment available in your trunk, so that it will be there when you need it. You never know when a blowout or flat will take place, so the only way to be prepared is to keep a car jack, a lug wrench, and a spare tire in your vehicle at all times.

When you have a flat on the side of the road the first thing will likely happen is an audible popping sound, followed by increased resistance. If you believe that you've just experienced a blow out on the road you need to pull over immediately, however do try to find a flat spot to park the vehicle if possible.

Once you are parked, grab your jack and jack the car up by its frame, as close as you can get it to the damaged tire, and stop before the tire actually leaves the ground. When the tire is in this spot, loosen but do not remove the lug nuts. With the nuts loosened, you can jack up the car until the tire is free of the ground, take off the lug nuts, and swap the damaged tire with the spare one.

Of course, the next step is rather simple, just do all of the above in reverse sequence. Using these easy directions, switching out your Nitto tires should prove to be a rather simple task.
