San Diego Has Everything A Relaxing Vacation Would Require

By Christina Coyle

Located in Southern California, San Diego is a world-class city with a perfect climate, incredible views and something for everyone, from serious shopping to fantastic lodging and dining, along with beautiful and abundant beaches.

One of the must-see places when visiting San Diego is Balboa Park. Along with restaurants, trails, gardens and play areas, the park is home to numerous museums like the Museum of Photographic Arts, the Veterans Museum and War Memorial. Situated near the coast in the heart of the city, going to the park is like entering a forest, where many of the trees are rare.

One of the main attractions in San Diego is SeaWorld. It is a theme park housing many aquatic animals and other species. At SeaWorld you can attend animal shows, feed dolphins, touch marine life, and view the park from the observation tower.

The San Diego Zoo is also home to over 4,000 animals. Being one of the largest zoos in the world, there is a 35-minute bus tour that visitors can take to get a general idea of the zoo's layout. There are also pathways leading to the exhibits, allowing guests to see the animals in the most natural way possible.

Whether you have a museum lover in your vacationing group or not, San Diego is one of the best places with museums. There are museums for every interest, including a children's museum, art museums, women's museum, and aviation museums.

Seventy miles of beachfront form the western border of San Diego County and no trip to San Diego is complete without watching or attempting surfing. For novice surfers, the La Jolla Shores has easy-to-navigate waves, while Black's Beach is a challenging ride for experienced surfers.

If you enjoy a game of golf to round out your vacation, you have choices for golfing along the ocean or going inland where temperatures are warmer in the winter. Torrey Pines Golf Course is a good choice, as is the golf course at Mission Bay, a shorter course, perfect for a quick round.

The Gaslamp District is the place to go when looking for some night-time fun. On only a few blocks, there are over 70 restaurants and clubs that come to life when the sun sets.

With so much to do in the Mission Valley area and Old Town San Diego, staying at the Mission Valley Resort San Diego Hotels provides you with comfortable lodging and access to all the nearby attractions, just minutes from the resort.
