Wentworth Falls is a 'must do ' if you're travelling in the Blue Mountains with Campervan Hire Australia. It's got a old fashioned hamlet, a lake and the some of the most dazzling perspectives you'll ever see. It also has some better than fantastic bushwalking, if you're up for a bracing trek to some attractive places.
The city was initially called 'Weatherboard Shed ' and that's literally all that it was in 1814. Nonetheless it grew into a village, but was not called Wentworth Falls until 1879 when it was named to give respect to William Charles Wentworth, who was one of the 3 early explorers to discover a way over and thru the mountains in 1813.
Wentworth Falls Village is a fine spot to start the day and has many fantastic cafes where you can have an easy going talk with the neighbors before heading off for some bushwalking. Or, if you walk along Station Street and cross the train line bridge, you will eventually pass thru a tree lined corridor and appear at the Wentworth Falls Lake.
This is a lovely spot to spend a while if bushwalking is not your sort of pastime. It is also family friendly and has a children's playground. The lake offers safe swimming, BBQs and shelters. You might truly relax and unwind here, reading a book in a stunning location, or watching the numerous wild ducks that call the lake home. It a beautiful spot.
Now, if none of the above is to your tastes and you simply happen to have your clubs with you (as golf fans often do), then you could travel a bit farther north past the lake and experience the marvels of the eighteen hole golf course at the Wentworth Falls Private Club. Golfing in the mountains and an afternoon in the Club may be a fine way to spend your vacation.
