Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland 'and is another great spot to unwind and enjoy a vacation. There's masses of accommodation to suit every budget and even engaging a campervan is a great choice at campervan hire Australia. There are a lot of things to do and see in this colourful town. There are trattorias and attractions to suit all tastes and budgets and many visitors enjoy the chic experiences on offer, but without the higher price tag of Sydney or Melbourne.

Southbank is an outside open space recreational area in the guts of Brisbane, stuffed with diners and all sorts of entertainment "like a synthesised beach, gardens and a lot of activities for children. If you ramble along William Street by the Brisbane River, you will see tons of heritage buildings, including the Queensland Parliamentary buildings.

If you're of a more marine bent, a cruise along the Brisbane River or around Moreton Bay is a complete must. You can also visit Frazer Island via boat too. If chasing after the night-life is more your style, the Treasury Casino as well as many other hotels and clubs, are there for your pleasure.

The train system makes navigating around Brisbane easy. You can go to the Gold Coast for the day via train from the centre of Brisbane, as well as try the major suburban shopping centres or go anyplace else that you select. For something different and new, you can now hire a cycle and pedal round the inner town, leaving the bike at appointed bike stations, thanks to Brisbane City Council.

The Queen Street Mall in the CBD has lots of regular and boutique shopping, as well as indoor and outside dining. Brisbane additionally has an active humanities and culture scene and you can easily walk across the bridge to the southern side to find studios, museums, theatre and libraries. There's also masses of local history on offer at the State Library in the John Oxley Collection.
