The Benefits Of Converting Your Car To LPG

By Dean Henry

There are many reasons to think about converting your car to LPG. The first excellent reasons is that LPG is much safer in the event of an accident. Also, once LPG is installed you will have a reserve tank so your chances of running out of gas are eliminated. Harmful emissions are eliminated so the conversion benefits the environment, and LPG contains no corrosive acids so the lifespan of the vehicle increases.

The tank for LPG is considerably stronger than a tank for regular gas. LPG tanks have to be sturdy enough to hold the fuel under pressure. The tanks will hold up to an impact in the event of an accident, while the regular tank will be damaged. Additionally, the LPG tanks must meet the European regulations and high standards for safety.

The tests that the LPG tanks must undergo are much more forceful than those conducted on tanks that hold petrol or diesel. LPG tanks are much stronger and will be less likely to be damaged on impact which makes them safer than the regular gas tank.

When the LPG kit is installed, the car will have two fuel tanks. One can be used as a reserve, or backup, if for some reason you do not fill the gas tank. You will never be stuck on the side of the road again because you ran out of fuel.

Converting to LPG will drastically reduce the harmful emissions of sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide. LPG emits almost none of these harmful gases that cause acid rain, smog and pollution, increase the greenhouse effect, and increases lung diseases.

In addition, converting your car to LPG will reduce the damage to the engine from the corrosive acids from petrol. A car will last longer and run smoother without the damage that is caused to the engine by the byproducts of regular gas. Changing over to LPG will increase the engines efficiency and power.
