The challenge of becoming SCUBA certified is usually not a problem, however there are some things you need to consider before doing it. Of course if you view it as a thrilling and exciting adventure, then the challenges will be fun, too. Your mindset should also be focused upon doing your best, not so much being excited about the prospect of diving. Everything is important and it all matters in the long run. You will need to get through three basic training parts for certification in open water scuba diving. The orientation to diving is first, and you will learn an overview of what is possible, and involved. Moving into the classroom, becomes the next part of the training. An example of this is requiring you to clean your mask while you are underwater opposed to being on the surface. Emergency skills such as breathing from a buddies regulator in the event your own develops a problem. As a prerequisite to being able to actually dive in the ocean or a larger body of water, trainees must learn these essential skills.

This part of the training is very specific and supervised, whereas your open water training can occur while you are traveling with your family. That is the flexibility we are talking about. Without a doubt, it is very fun and flexible to get your scuba certification done in the open waters at your leisure.

Many people develop a lifelong passion for scuba diving, something that they can do in their youth and older years. People typically call those that are obsessed with a particular sport a bum: ski bums, surf bums, and now scuba bums. This sport, unlike most others, does not have to be fast paced which makes it very relaxing. There is no hurry in regard to mastering every aspect of diving, which is why many people do this as a lifetime activity.
