Villas In France To Suit Every Pocket And Taste

By Mike Meyer

If you've ever read one or more books in the series written by Carol Drinkwater about her life on an olive farm in the south of France, you will no doubt love to live in this area of rolling hills, olive groves and quaint villages. She was lucky to pick up the little farm for a bargain price - normally villasin France are very expensive and beyond the reach of the ordinary man and woman. Fortunately we can at least rent such a villa for a week or two and experience something of that lifestyle.

There are numerous reasons why this country is such a popular destination for both expats and tourists. To start off the weather, especially in the south, is much better than in the northern European countries. In the far south it's not a strange phenomenon at all to enjoy lovely sunny days in the heart of winter.

Fortunately there are always a number of villas for rent throughout the country. Anyone who would like to spend his holiday in a French villa has a wide variety to choose from. These houses are normally well equipped, with modern kitchens, all the necessary appliances, cable TVs and possibly even a pool.

Such a villa is not only meant for basking in the sun though. To stay in one of them for a two-week holiday and not explore any further would be a cardinal offense. No matter where you are, you will find not only stunning natural beautify, but lots of culture and historical sites to immerse yourself in. Everywhere there will be centuries-old little market towns where time has virtually stood still, imposing cathedrals, beautiful churches and in the south also mountains, forests and great beaches.

The large cities all have world class shopping opportunities. For those who can't get enough of the French culture, there are a myriad of art galleries and museums. In virtually every town you will also run into regular theater productions.

Something else that has made France famous is the number of festivals you will find throughout the country in any given year. These range from traditional festivals in the smaller towns, to dance festivals, music festivals and film festivals. To attend one of these festivals is to get a glimpse into the true heart of France.

When you book one of the many available villas in France, first make sure you find out all relevant facts. If you don't have a car at your disposal, don't select a place that's twenty miles/kilometers from the nearest town. Also make sure that you fully understand what's included in the price and what not. If you plan to permanently move to France, renting a villa for a couple of weeks is a great way to make sure that you will fit in with the French way of life.
