Sydney Tours And Visit Primer

By Fraser Brown

Sydney being the NSW capital and the biggest Australian city, it's no big surprise that Sydney tours are always choc-a-bloc full of visitors from around the world. But Sydney's appeal goes a lot deeper than just size. For starters, it is where the English settlers built their first settlement. Plus, Sydney has an eye-popping range of famed attractions that make the city more appealing than most destinations.

Consider the main items on the list - the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, the Rocks area and the Sydney Tower. Also not to be missed are family friendly attractions like Luna Park, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Hype Park. There are over forty gorgeous beaches in Sydney, including Bondi Beach. With 4.5m cultured and sophisticated Sydneysiders, the city has more than its fair share of urban attractions like museums, art galleries and theatres.

With such a wide range of choices, Sydney tours have to be planned very carefully. Tour companies offer the full range, from simple sightseeing to helicopter and cruise tours, not to mention a number of day trips. Visitors also have the choice of buying an attractions pass that gives access to a whole bunch of attractions.

Sydney Bridgeclimb: As mentioned above, there are all kinds of activities and famous attractions for tourists in Sydney. But none comes anywhere close to being as popular as Sydney BridgeClimb. It is an essential component of a trip to Sydney, and the experience would be incomplete without BridgeClimb.

Visitors get to choose from guided options including Express, Discovery and Bridge Climb. Express, as the name suggests, is the fast route. With Discovery, visitors get to explore the bridge in all its glory. Bridge Climb has people clambering up 134 metres above the bridge, and the view is magnificent. Note that Bridge Climb does not involve anything difficult, and it is open to people of all ages.

Day Trips & Themed tours: Time and budget permitting, Sydney has excellent possibilities for day trips like the wine country delights of Hunter Valley, the beaches and water activities at Port Stephens and adventures in the Blue Mountains. For nature and wildlife lovers, the Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park and Royal National Park are good places to spend the day. For visitors who need specific themed Sydney tours, there are guided tour options like walking, biking, dining and shopping.

Cruises & Air Tours: While Sydney Harbour looks darn good from the shore, it's even better to reverse the view and look at the city skyline from a cruise boat. Cruise passengers get a good look at the Harbour Bridge, Fort Denison and the Opera House. Another exciting tour option is a flying tour of Sydney in a hot air balloon or a helicopter.

Sydney Attractions Pass: For those who want to make Sydney tours an easy and well planned experience, there are two ways to go about it. First, book a bus tour which takes visitors to all the aforementioned attractions, including Chinatown and King's Cross. Second, get a Sydney attractions pass that allows access to over 40 attractions, and plan out an itinerary to visit as many of the attractions as possible.
