Whether For Business Or Vacation Look Into Sydney Australia Hotels Before You Leave

By Alison McCubbin

With more than 4.5 million residents, Sydney is the largest city in Australia and the capital of New South Wales. Each year this metropolitan city entertains close to 25 million visitors from other areas around the country and the world. It is easy to locate lodging most anywhere in the city, but booking in advance will assure you the best of Sydney Australia hotels to fit your needs.

There are hundreds of reasons to visit Sydney and to find the right hotel, you must know the region or regions in which you plan to go. There are 17 regions within Sydney, each having their own smaller cities and governments. If traveling for work it may be simpler to find a hotel of choice of hotels, than vacationing, as you already know where you are headed. Taking into consideration the numerous appealing sites and things to do when on vacation is best before deciding where to stay. If you are a sports' fan you may wish to visit Olympic Park where much of the 2000 Summer Olympic Games took place. Or you may want to take in a rugby game, the premier pro-sport of Australia. Since Sydney is on the Tasman Sea, water sports are also popular with tourists.

To absorb some cultural interests of the Australian people, taking in the symphony or an opera at the world-famous Sydney Opera House is a high priority. Other events of interest may be the Royal Botanical Gardens, Wildlife World Zoo, Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Tower or one of the numerous museums around the city. And when you are ready to spend a day lying down to relax, there are many beaches including the Manly Beach to watch surfing or Bondi Beach, a favorite of Europeans for a winter holiday.

Sydney's main shopping district contains an abundance of department stores, malls and arcades all within a short walk with underground tunnels and walkways connecting them. Located in the heart of the city, the shopping district is an important part of the city's commerce and is a huge draw to locals and visitors alike.

Lodging is available throughout the city for all most any price. Even the less expensive hotels offer general amenities including telephones and televisions in each room, parking lots or garages, laundry and dry cleaning and a restaurant offering room service. Some cheaper hotels may not have private baths, so be sure to ask, before you book.

Despite it's location, being detached from other countries by water, Australia and most especially Sydney continues to be a major tourist destination for travelers from around the world. The city is also the premier destination amongst native Australians, when ready to take a trip to the "big" city. Because of its popularity, Sydney offers a diversity in hotels as vast as the people who come to stay there.

Five star, luxury hotels offer elegantly decorated large rooms and suites. They may have pools, spas, Jacuzzis and work-out rooms. There may be multiple restaurants at the hotel location as well as a nightclub or lounge with entertainment. And, shopping may not be limited to one gift shop, but there may be a small arcade or variety of shops onsite. Some individual hotels may be aimed at a particular tourist market like those traveling from Europe or Asia. For ease in communicating with their customers, many of the employees may be bi-lingual. Other hotels are designed to accommodate visitors from any country or region and draw from having the ultimate stay experience.

Of course, accommodations can always be found for the travel family in the mid-price range, between cheap and luxury. Booking early can assure you the proper accommodations for your trip. Knowing where you want to visit and what you plan on doing is essential before knowing where to look for the proper hotel for you.
