Best Tourist Attractions in Panama

By Joshua Adekane

The Republic of Panama has been enjoying a boost in their tourism industry in recent years. Travelers worldwide are starting to discover the hidden beauties of this country. In this article, you will learn about the various tourist attractions in Panama.

The Republic of Panama is located in Central America between Colombia and Costa Rica. Its capital is Panama city and its population is around four million people. Spanish is the primary language although the business community generally speaks English.

Panama was voted one of the best place to do business in Latin America and has been receiving a lot of investment interest. One of the reasons for this is that the country is home to the Panama Canal. This engineering wonder has allowed ships to travel between the Pacific and Atlantic ocean in approximately one day. This would have normally taken close to one month to do. This canal has been extremely successful and is currently expanding to be able to accommodate larger ship called post Panamax which cannot currently cross the canal due to its size.

Casco Viejo is the oldest quarters in the Pacific coast of the Americas. In 1988, it was recognised by UNESCO as a site of world interest. When I visit this area, i think it is very similar to Havana in Cuba or the French quarters in New Orleans. This area is also filled with plenty of trendy bars and restaurants as well as art galleries. I love going there on the weekend just to walk for hours.

One thing Panama definitely has is beautiful beaches on both the Atlantic and Pacific ocean. The most popular beaches are San Blas, Bocas del toro, Contadora and Playa Blanca. These beaches also boost several nice hotels and amenities to your standards.

As you can see, you will have plenty of tourist attractions to visit during your vacations in Panama.
