Italy Countrysides Offer A Relaxing Adventure

Mark Twain once described Italy by saying that "The Creator made Italy from designs by Michelangelo". Its scenic and breathtaking views are sure to captivate even the busiest business traveler. This is probably one of the reasons why this country is a favorite vacation destination for those who are looking to relax and take a break from their hectic lives.

If you are travelling to Italy, it is worth knowing that a truly restful experience can be achieved away from crowds and stressful atmosphere of the city. Though its more popular cities are wonderful travel spots as well, your chances of having a real rejuvenating trip are higher if you visit the countryside. You will be able to find a reasonable package deal at several inns there.

Two of the ideal spots for that much needed R&R are Sardinia and the Amalfi Coast. They present equally comfortable accommodations and scrumptious meals at their restaurants. The combination of good food and calming scenery are the perfect ingredients for a pleasurable trip.

Travel back in time to the medieval period when you go to Sardinia. It is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and is home to some of the worlds most ancient archeological sites. It also boasts of 500 hectares of vines that produce some of the finest Sardinian wines. Though its vineyards only allow wine traders, its museum and cellar are open to the public. Also popular in this region are its thermal springs.

The Amalfi Coast is listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO and is known for its many churches and very long coastline. Staying at one of the country inns along its stretch of shore makes for an enjoyable and reflective walk along the beach. This area also offers many spa retreats that will surely rejuvenate anyone. If you would like to breathe in some fresh air and bask in the comforts of the sea and sun, there are many places where you can rent a boat for a day on the water. Accommodations are abundant and are within short proximity to the historic centre of the town which showcases many architectural and cultural gems.

Not limited to the above cities, there are yet many other locations in Italy's countryside that are worth going to. With some research you will easily be introduced to them and you will be able to select a specific site that you feel will allow you to re-energize and pamper yourself.

The Italians pride themselves with putting much emphasis on living life to the fullest. They value their leisure time and work to live. It will not be surprising if you learn a thing or two about their way of life and end up applying some of their practices when you get back to your part of the world.
