Again, this is not a leading role for Hoffman, but you cannot deny that he knows how to choose a role and does not simply jump at the gun to act in any movie. I haven't seen this movie in quite some time, but I still remember how amazing the special effects looked in theaters.
One movie that must be mentioned when discussing Hoffman films is Doubt. This movie stars Hoffman as a priest being questioned by a strict and evil nun, played by none other than the great Meryl Streep.
One film that featured Philip Seymour Hoffman which I absolutely love is 25th Hour. Hoffman plays a teacher who is the friend of a man about to be locked up for many years (played by Edward Norton). As they enjoy their last night out together, things take an interesting turn.
One other film that I feel the need to discuss is the movie that nabbed him an Academy Award for Best Actor In A Lead Role, and that was of course the movie Capote. Hoffman played the part of Truman Capote as no one else could.
