Dustin Hoffman And His Best Performances In Years Past

By John Roberts

Depending on who you ask about the greatest actors of all time, you are likely to get many different responses. After asking around, one actor who consistently was mentioned is Dustin Hoffman. It is hard to pinpoint Hoffman to a specific generation as he has been in the business for well over 40 years.

The following movies are some of my favorites starring the great Dustin Hoffman.

One movie that starred Dustin Hoffman that I absolutely loved was I Heart Huckabees. This is an incredibly bizarre film, labeled as an existential film about nothing. This is a light hearted film that also stars Mark Wahlberg, Jude Law and Lilly Tomlin.

Another excellent movie starring Dustin Hoffman and showcasing his incredible versatility was Midnight Cowboy. This movie also stars Jon Voight, but it is Hoffman who steals the show as a crippled hustler.

If you are going to make a list of Hoffman films, one movie that must be mentioned is Rain Man. If there was ever a role deserving of the Academy Award for Best Actor In A Leading Role, it was the role of Charlie Babbit in Rain Man.

One movie that you may not have seen starring Dustin Hoffman was Wag The Dog. This movie stars Hoffman and De Niro as a duo who fabricate a whole war prior to the elections in order to sway the vote.

One movie of Dustin Hoffman's that I have yet to see, but have been meaning to for quite some time, is Kramer Vs. Kramer. Although I have not seen it, I can respect its place as a classic in American cinematic history.

These are just some of the greatest Dustin Hoffman films, but certainly there are others worth mentioning. Expect a follow up article soon!
