The Top Three Places To Retire In Europe

A dream of many is to visit Europe and not many would hesitate if they had the opportunity to move there. Most people would leave their 10 and 20 year careers to start a new life. There are many places that you can choose to visit from the multicultural city of London all the way to the je ne sais quoi of Paris. While almost impossible, there are places to consider.

There are many things to consider when you are choosing to move to Europe. Not only do you have to consider a job you also have to think about the weather, health care, the economy, and even transportation. Everyone would love to move to anywhere in Europe but most places are unaffordable. Everyone should consider the great island of Italy.

Europe is known for its exorbitant cost of living and trying to find a place that's affordable is almost impossible. For the past five years, the pricing of properties have continued to drop down to as much as 35 percent. Unlike in the United States where residential properties are becoming more expensive over time, it is the exact opposite in Sicily because properties are becoming cheaper. Low cost of living , friendly weather, and inviting people are all reasons for Living in Sicily. Europe is known for its exorbitant cost of living and trying to find a place that's affordable is almost impossible.

A lot of locals speak English as a second language in Sicily and with an American base on the island it would be easy to find others who speak English. Europe's second best place to retire in is Portugal. Medical expenses are highly affordable in Portugal and its economy is more stable compared to Italy.

The drawback with Portugal is that throughout Europe, it has the highest fatality rate related to motor accidents. Then, following on third place is Malta. While Malta is not the cheapest place to live in, it has the advantage when it comes to practicality. Most of Malta's population speaks English so headaches due to misunderstanding are less likely. Also, Malta adheres to the British legal system. This makes the purchasing of properties easier compared to Sicily and Portugal.
