Going On A Caribbean Cruise

By Jose Abbott

Does the thought of a Caribbean Cruise interest you even if you aren't too familiar about what to expect? Well, to start off, you have to know what the Caribbean is. This region is located between North America and South America, though still part of the Americas.

The beach - that's what most people think about when they are asked to think about the Caribbean. But the Caribbean offers much, much more than just your standard beach activities. There are a number of things that you can do. You can go beachcombing, have a picnic and sail in San Juan, Puerto Rico, or go on powerboat adventures in Nassau, Bahamas. You will never run out of options as to what to do next. The sun and seaside will keep you inspired for the length of your trip.

Some of the best places to go to in the Caribbean include Jamaica, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Cayman Islands, the US Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.

You may ask what are your best options now that you know the best places to go to. If you're planning to go to Montego Bay in Jamaica, Viator can get you on a three-hour Catamaran Cruise for only about US$60. They can also let you see Trelawny, Jamaica's Luminous Lagoon for six hours, US$37 per head. In the Dominican Republic, the Ocean World Adventure Park is considered the best sight to see, located in Puerto Plata. Does checking the Caribbean waters out sound like fun to you? The Dominican Republic can offer that as well, through Punta Cana's Seaquarium Adventure.

If you're the less adventurous type and would rather spend your vacation time shopping, the Caribbean does offer you some options. In St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, driver-guides will show you Magens Bay, St. John and the chain of British Virgin Islands from Mt. Top, the highest point on St. Thomas. After touring the mountains, you will be taken to downtown Charlotte Amalie, where you can be by yourself for lunch or browse the duty-free shops of the Old Danish town.

Depending on your interests, these Caribbean adventures may or may not appeal to you, but if they don't, there's always sightseeing, night clubbing or just staying in the hotel. The Caribbean is a great place for you to enjoy your honeymoon if you just got married. And if you've been happily married for decades, you may want to have your second honeymoon there!
