Dance Cruise: Try Your Moves At Sea

By Jennifer Vargas

A cruise ship may sound like the sort of place only seniors go, but if so they are usually they are very active seniors. Take a dance cruise, just as an example. Chances are all ages will be on board, while the over-seventies will put younger passengers through their paces.

A steady liner means nothing will interrupt your learning, practising or teaching. A cruise is one ideal way to commit yourself to picking-up a new hobby or continuing a well-established one. This is an entertainment that will give you maximum benefit.

One of these is society. Though a liner is large and full of things to do, you are still unable to get in your car and just go home. Passengers have to give-up shyness and connect with others.

Within a relatively short period of time, people yet make friendships that last and carry-on to the next cruise. No excuses for not joining-in, either. Where else are passengers going to go? Even if being a single lady makes you feel lonely and nervous, many ships make allowances for this by employing dance hosts to pair-up on the floor with the women. Men are often surrounded with eligible females due to a favorable ratio of females to males.

Certain cruises are very specific in their aims. They appeal to singles, or learners. Particular dances could be on offer, like ballroom or Latin. Other interesting forms are popping-up too, like Zumba and barn dancing. On-line photos show what participants are wearing. Clearly, if you like dressing-up, this is the place to be. Pack the right clothes or even go shopping on-board where there is often a boutique, salon and even spa offering massages for the next day when those muscles ache.

Spend the night on-board and wake-up to your breakfast and goodbyes. Book an entire week to combine dancing with touring far-flung places with newly-made friends. Or, just board a one-night cruise running merely hours, perhaps connected to a dinner cruise.

Not everyone on board is a single lady, even though often the ratio makes it highly beneficial for single men to book a cruise. Come with your spouse. Bring a daughter or friends. If you join enough cruises there are soon discounts and specials offered you which could see passengers catch the dancing bug.
