A Typical Female Midlife Crisis

By Tracie Knight

At a certain point in time, you may feel a change coming about. This may due to a female midlife crisis. This is only natural and it is in no way uncommon. One can expect it to come on at any time in life, and some women even have this as young as third. Men will have this at a later stage and will experience it in different ways.

One first used to think that this was the change from a mother to becoming free and discovering yourself. However, this has changed into doing something different, depending on the person. Some people go into a different career at this point in time. Some people splash out and buy a new car or opt for botox.

A man may buy a Harley Davidson and feel like he is eighteen again, or cruise around and look for a younger girl. Women may do something similar, but they may also do something that is conventional. A crisis like this can be defined as searching for your identity. It does not necessarily have to be a bad thing because self discovery is important.

Some women are hit by circumstances on more of a severe level than others. They may become miserable for no reason at all. They may do things that they don't think of doing beforehand and this lands them in a tricky spot. One must look into this and families must learn to support. A therapist is needed in these situations.

In most times, women will splash out and find out more about botox or get something expensive. They may have saved all of their pennies before, so this is something different for them. Changing careers is common during this time. Someone who has been goal orientated may decide to take a break. This may be a good thing just to think about life.

Some women decide they want to give up materialism altogether and take on a life which is filled with strong values. This is sometimes not realistic, but it often works out as well if you go about it in the right way. For example, you may have a child at home who you want to spend some time with, and in that case it will definitely work out.

Sometimes you can be as young as thirty when this hits you and this is where you have to take action because it can be a problem and affect those around you. You may have just started a career at this point and choosing to do something else can be a bad thing. You also need guidance during this time.

Keep on asking yourself questions as you move along with the process and to make sure that you are going in the right direction. The point is that you are trying something new and that you are experiencing some sense of freedom, but you don't want to be miserable. If you are finding that you are tearing up on a regular basis, you need to see a therapist.
