Experience The Ultimate Dirt Bike Tours Cambodia

By Marsha Klein

The exotic call of culture and history combined with a love of adventure have long attracted many tourists to Asia. Dirt bike tours Cambodia offers a unique way to enjoy the beautiful scenery and meet the local communities. The journey will offer many a magical moment visiting the attractions of the country.

The terrain in the country can be demanding and the people organizing the tours will adapt a route to suit the riders ability. Roads and paths from the cities lead to hills, mountains and jungles. The scenery is forever changing on this epic journey.

The country is probably best known for its temples. Near the outskirts of Siem city the Angkor Archaeological Park is most certainly a place to visit. There are many ruins to see but, out of all the temples Angkor Wat is the largest. The Khmer civilization still has the modern day world in awe of its construction style and the jungle and large trees growing around the stone work makes the place mystical.

Phnom Penh is the capital city of Cambodia. Divided into three areas it sits on the banks of the Tonle Sap and Mekong River. A wealthy city, it offers its visitors a display of French colonial architecture to the south, narrow streets, bustling markets and plenty of shops in the center and to the north a very attractive residential zone.

Sihanoukville is surrounded by a dozen islands off the Gulf of Thailand. This beach resort is an ideal location for a spot of relaxing. A great place to take time to explore a few other activities such as fishing, snorkeling and diving. The beaches are clean and sandy and the sea is clear and warm. The city comes to life in the evening with the flavors and smells of Asia enticing people into the many restaurants along the beach.

Tours to the north of the country lead you past waterfalls and streams. The bamboo jungles and grassland give opportunities to see the amazing wildlife that live here. Elephants and tigers roam around the Virachey National Park and there are small villages that welcome visitors. Hidden in the Ratanakiri forest is a volcanic lake called Yeak laom. A refreshing swim can be followed by light lunch and a chance to relax.

Boeung Tonle Sap is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia and is home to many fish, crocodiles, wild life and birds. The floating villages tower over the water on stilts. The distinct houses, restaurants and market places rise and fall with the waters level. The way of life and economy is closely connected to the water cycle that rises and falls during the year.

Don't expect luxury overnight accommodation. The guesthouses are basic and on occasions a local family may offer a place to eat and sleep. Travel light on the trip with a change of clothes that can be washed through. Although riding gear is provided it is sometimes better to take your own so as to feel comfortable whilst riding.

Taking a dirt bike tours Cambodia is enjoyable and fun, but the country is dominated by its weather. There are alternating seasons of wet and dry periods. The tropical country does not get cold however, the months May to September can be very wet.
