Bow Hunting: Why Individuals Are so Addicted On It

By George Dodson

Hunters are rather peculiar people. These people are able to wake up even at 2 o'clock in the morning and can sit still on a certain position for hours until the hunted animal comes to visibility or range. In order for them to keep track of their prey, they often camp in the wilderness or on the area where the animal can be hunted. Just like what you see in the movies, these people hang out on gun stores and weapon outlets where they marvel at the latest models of hunting weapons. They often look at rifles. Also, they can choose to find bows. So why do people prefer bows when hunting?

Using a rifle, you can hunt with a range of 100 yards or more. Often times you have a scope which means at that range, if done properly, you're going to hit what you shoot at. With the bow, the hunting procedure is entirely different.

With the bow you're firing arrows one at a time. The arrows are designed with a steel or metal head that are pointed to easily pierce the thick body of any animal. Utilizing bows for hunting will require you to have great expertise and skill on the use of such weapon. A bow can definitely fire at a farther range than a gun. Just like other weapons of its kind, its performance is affected by gravity. If an arrow is fired with very less force or push, it can cover a very short distance. The farther you shoot an arrow, the greater the pull of gravity. Thus, we can say that using a bow for hunting is really for the adventurers as well as those that are skilled.

Those who hunt with a bow like the challenge. Using bow in hunting will need the hunter to cover a short distance from their prey or target. This means that the game is more likely to hear them or smell them. Hunting with a bow will provide a great deal of challenge since the animal can hear and smell the hunter as they approach. It will always be necessary to get as close to the prey as possible if you choose to hunt using a bow. A bow hunter must make continues motion to get close to its target. If the game is deer, deer are very sensitive to motion and smell. They are colorblind so color doesn't matter to them. If they sense danger from movement or smell, they will bolt and run for miles.

In addition to the above, bow hunting requires a greater skill. Despite the model or qualification of such bow, it can provide you with perfect shots when used correctly. You should be knowledgeable of the various arrow heads and tips that are used for various types of hunts. Use of this hunting weapon is only for those who have the skills for it and for those who are looking for a challenging game. Of course, use of bows will also require a great deal of time when hunting since you need to move slowly towards your target. This means you must prepare for longer periods in the forest. Among those that you need to prepare when staying longer in the wild are the right camping as well as hunting gears.

To sum it up, the use of bow will need the hunter to move with stealth, agility, skill as well as a good sense of adventure. If you like adventures then bow hunting would be a better choice for you.
