Get Clean Just before You Relocate

By Sharonne Penickata

While you are wandering through the house and finding items to pack, you will doubtless run into objects that have not been touched in a long time. These items, usually trinkets in china cabinets or occupants of long forgotten boxes on shelves in the garage, will be covered in a layer of dust. Whether you are allergic to dust or not, breathing in anywhere near this much contaminated air is not good for anyone. Your moving companies are likely to demand everything be boxed, though, and you don't want to stash away things that are dirty.

You will need a approach to battle the dust at home while you're packing. There are numerous ways to go about this, but few make the results which you actually want. The whole dust battle in your house during the move will come right down to the products you use to conquer it, and the way that you use them.

In order to get ahead of the dust that moving will disturb, you must be prepared to do something when you encounter dust. Only half performing the following actions can lead to half the dust engaging in the environment in your home anyway. This can bring about allergy attacks and asthma attacks for anyone inside your home. In order to defeat the dust, you've got to be vigilant and undergo your dust routine each and every dusty item you will find.

When you have a lot of money to blow on cleaning products, you are able to pick yourself up a few packages of these dust catching cloths. These products, which may have special surfaces capture the dust and keep it from falling off the rag, work wonders for capturing the dust. However, they refill rapidly. In the dusty part of your home, you may find yourself going through one of these simple cloths in mere 30 minutes. The resulting purchase of more can increase your price tag for moving.

For those who have to watch their pennies in this tight economy, there exists a way around the price of these dust trapping cloths. However, this process will require you to be more conscious of what you're doing, especially around wood and electronics.

Assign each person in the household a classic wash cloth or dish cloth. Take a normal size bowl, as if you would eat your morning cereal from, and place a single drop of dish washing detergent at the base. Fill the bowl with water. Carry this bowl with you around your home as you pack.

Submerge your old cloth in the water until it really is saturated. Remove, and wring out the excessive moisture, so your cloth is damp rather than wet. Make use of this damp cloth to talk about any dusty surfaces. Since your cloth becomes drier, or becomes too dirty, rinse it in the bowl of water and do it again. If you take care to wring it out every time, you can get the dust under control before your moving quotes are even issued.
