Traveling Or Thailand Is A Spectacular Southeast Asian Country

Thailand is one of the most popular countries in Asia for tourism, and often the first country visited for travelers in the Southeast Asian countries. The country appeals to everyone from young backpackers, party animals on a short holiday and families. The country has something for everyone. You can enjoy stunning beaches, diving, water-sports, adventure tourism in the hills of the north, or just partying like crazy at one of the full moon parties on Koh Phangan island.

Bangkok is the most likely arrival point for those coming to Thailand. This vibrant city ha a lot to offer visitors and it is well worth getting away from the Koh San Road area of Banglamphu and spending time and other parts of the city. You will likely want to get out fairly soon though and head to one of the beautiful beaches on one of the islands.

Thailand is excellent value for money and long term travelers will be able to enjoy the majority of attractions in the country on a modest budget, including the beautiful islands. Your choice of island will depend much on what you are wanting to do.

The Thai islands of Koh Lanta, Ohucket, Koh Samui and Koh Pi Pi are perfect for families as they have a lot of facilities and good quality accommodation and resorts. Younger people will love the party scene on Koh Phangan especially the famous full moon parties they have at Had Rin beach.

If you enjoy a reggae vibe with live music in the evenings and simple bungalow on the beach then Koh Chang may well be the perfect choice. Koh Tao island is especially good for diving and snorkeling and is considered the best island in Thailand in which to learn to scuba dive.

The beach on Thailand's mainland are also very popular. These include: Pataya, Hua Hin and Krabi. Pataya and Hua Hin are pretty close to Bangkok. Krabi is a little further south but offers fantastic scenery and awesome climbing activities. Krabi also has the famous limestone Karst known as James Bond Island, which juts out of the sea. It looks spectacular from the beach at Au Nang.

Chiang Mai is Thailand cultural center. It is situated in the North of Thailand and is a beautiful city with many historical attractions for visitors including Lanna era temples. Not too far out of the city, on top of a hill is Wat Doi Suthep, which is a beautiful Buddhist temple complex with stunning views over Chiang Mai. The north region has many trekking opportunities too.

Chiang Mai is considered to be the best place in the country in which to learn about Thai culture. There are language classes, as well as Thai cooking classes. Thailand is a country that will suit anyone. It is also the most likely first country visited on a long term travel trip. Other countries in the region include, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Bali, Suluwesi, Mayanmar, Borneo, The Philippines, Malaysia and many others.
