Why Your Next Vacation Should Be Porto Alegre City In Brazil

Brazil has much to offer visitors: a vast landscape that is full of history and culture. A vacation to this beautiful country is one that surely be not easily forgotten. Porto Alegre boasts an amazing array of beautiful landscapes, historical landmarks and museums and a nightlife that will have you partying all night long. Porto Alegre City in Brazil is the capital city of the state of Rio Grande Do Sul, and is the 10th largest metropolitan area, with more than 1.5 million people.

There are many things to see and do in this populous city, and it may be difficult to pick just a few. The Central Public Market is a must-see attraction; the building opened in 1869 and offers an incredible architectural design. The market sells a variety of foods such as fish, fresh fruit, and ice cream parlor and several restaurants.

If you are travelling with your family, the PUC Science and Technology museum is a great place to learn and explore. It has many hands-on exhibits and experiments that kids and adults alike will find entertaining, including an earthquake simulator. Stop and have lunch at the cafeteria or grab a quick snack at the snack bar.

The Rio Guaiba boat tour will provide for lovely landscapes and scenery, so be sure to bring your camera along. Cruise through the city's west part and then sail to IIhas do Lage, where you'll find some amazing beaches.

The Metropolitan Cathedral's construction was started way back in the 1700's, but didn't reach completion until 1986, due to various interruptions. This Renaissance-style building certainly makes an impression at 47 meters wide and 80 meters long. The towers are 50 meters high and are truly an amazing site.

If you only have a limited amount of time for sightseeing, or you can't decide what you'd like to see most, consider a guided bus tour. You'll be able to view all of the most popular historical buildings and landmarks that the city has to offer. They run several times per day, particularly during the busy season, and are not expensive. Other venues include the Botanical Gardens if you'd like a quiet afternoon to enjoy a picnic.

The climate is considered sub-tropical, meaning the temperatures stay relatively mild all year long. Summers can be hot and humid with highs of over 90 degrees F. Winters don't generally dip much below 60 degrees F. Snow is almost unheard of here, although rain can be heavy during certain times of the year.

Porto Alegre City in Brazil is sure to be enjoyed by the entire family. Look online to search for other attractions that sound interesting to you and worth a visit. Make a list of possible attractions to see. When you book with your travel agent, ask them about guided tours or itineraries that are included in your trip. Before booking, search the internet to compare different packages and prices. This may take you some time and a bit of searching but it will be worth it when you find a good deal. Never travel without purchasing insurance and always choose a reputable travel company.
