Evaluating Sydney Accommodation Near Airport Vicinity

By Howard Rudd

Travelers touching down for a night may well find Sydney accommodation near airport a good idea. There are several hotels to choose from, with the convenience of being near the airport and the amenities to make their guests comfortable. However, the center of Sydney is close enough to make it possible to stay in the business district, which greatly widens the choice and the price range.

Among the hotels deemed 'at the airport', the Stamford Plaza Hotel is the most luxurious, with a five star rating. This high rise has all the usual luxuries, like a pool, a full-service spa, a gym, a sauna, and a hot tub. It also offers full business service for conferences, shuttle pick up, baby sitting and child services, and has banquet facilities. The free breakfast included with the room gets an excellent rating.

With very satisfactory reviews, the Holiday Inn is another airport hotel, with a four star rating. Guests of the hotel have a choice of two restaurants, a coffee shop, and a bar, and can relax in the pool, or get going in the fitness room or on the hotel's golf course. Babysitting is provided if needed, as well as secretarial service.

Another, kind of a revolutionary idea is staying at the Quest Mascot Serviced Apartments, choosing among 91 suites that go from studio to three bedrooms. With full service from the four and a half star staff, travelers can stay for one night or much longer, perhaps feeling more settled than in a hotel room. There are meeting rooms and secretarial service to accommodate those on business.

Four stars have been awarded to the Mecure Sydney Airport, although the validity of this rating is questioned by some former guests. The rooms are generally praised as comfortable and spacious, but the attentiveness of the staff and the quality and value of the food fall short. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant, and charges a small fee for their shuttle service.

The Hotel Formule also has a four star rating, but has better reviews for its 24 hour front desk staff. Wireless Internet is not free at this hotel, nor is parking. Children under two can stay free, but there is a charge if a cot is needed for the child. All reservations are prepaid and non-refundable.

The Airport Sydney International Inn Hotel has 116 rooms, ranging from standard to intriguing sounding spa suites. There are also what are termed family suites at this hotel. It is equipped for business groups as well as leisure travelers, has a bar and a restaurant, and also charges a fee for its shuttle services.

These are representative of what an Internet search turns up. Details of rates are available when booking. None of these places are cheap, but neither do travelers pay a premium for the proximity of the airport. All of the hotels have Internet access, are non-smoking, are air conditioned, and will have special pricing for reservations done in advance. Fees may be charged for services in some of the hotels, while being free in others, so check out what you know you will need.

Sydney accommodation near the airport is definitely available, and details can be found with a simple search if an individual is making arrangements without using a travel service.
