The Joy Of Taking Airboat Rides Miami

By Cheri Knowles

Families all around the world love to visit Florida. The pulls to the region are many. There are the parks in Orlando, the beautiful white beaches, and the airboat rides Miami taking the family on an Everglades tour. This region contains many endangered plants and animals, some of which are found no place else.

While taking one of these trips, make sure the children keep their hands and legs inside the vehicle. Be watchful of poisonous snakes when going under trees. It will not take long to notice the most auspicious resident of the region, the Florida alligator.

This zone is also home to a vast array of saltwater marsh plants including pampas grass and cypress trees. One will also find the white water lily makes its home there. There are hardwood tree zones where orchids and wild ferns grow. The mangrove forests and sawgrass marshes really hold the whole ecosystem together.

The boat engineering itself is pure genius. A traditional boat cannot traverse marshy regions due to the submerged propeller. The vehicle your family will be riding on is a flat-bottomed boat with a giant propeller engine located in the back, actually in the boat. This boat is designed to glide over water and marshy land without damaging the flora.

This giant propeller pushes air behind the vehicle, propelling it forward. It is contained in a cage that prevents objects or animals from coming into contact with the blades. Both the pilot and passengers are positioned in elevated seats which allow for excellent viewing of areas in front and around the sides, making dangerous animals more visible and less able to get to the people inside.

When leaving from the hotel room, visitors are cautioned to be sure and bring bottled water and some sort of insect repellent spray. In addition, it is a good idea to be properly slathered with sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or greater. With a little planning and protection, airboat rides Miami can be the trip of a lifetime.
