Cheap Flights For Bicycles And Berlin

By Claire Collins

As holiday makers have discovered before, not only does Berlin have wonderful parks and flat roads but there is also about 1000km of specially planned cycle paths. To add to the appeal even more, the city's extra wide pavements are also permitted territory for cyclists who interestingly far out-weigh the number of drivers. With plenty of cheap flights to Berlin available this spring and summer, you could soon be whizzing past some of Germany's historic sites and buildings.

Hiring yourself a well-made bike once you have landed is inexpensive too; vendors are easy to locate and will only charge between 8-12Euros a day.

There are some truly significant places to visit in Berlin, if you're interested in history. Gorlitzer Park, the former site of the rail terminus that connected the two different sides of Germany, it is now an important monument to the city's history. You can cycle here, and if you do you will be able to see a lot of the city along the way, making it a great day out on the bike.

City parks are wonderful for cyclists - if cyclists are allowed in, that is. Fear not, Berlin's Tiegarten is pro-cycling, which means you can not only take your bike into the park, but you are encouraged to ride around it. And why would you not? It's the largest and prettiest urban park in existence! The park is also home to a zoo and aquarium if you fancy some wildlife. For free parks and inexpensive flights, Berlin offers a lot to visitors.

In fact, cheap flights are one thing, but hotels in Berlin are not expensive either. The four-star hotel Hoppergarten Berlin offers sound proof rooms for a good night's sleep, a gym, sauna, bar, restaurant, and other great features, yet rooms won't break the bank. You'll be close enough to Tiegarten to do some real cycling and then just come back to your hotel, lock up your bike, and put your feet up with a cold drink in the hotel bar.
